Year of Beer Paintings – Day 70

Today’s Year of Beer painting is of Stone Brewing Company’s Ruination IPA.  This IPA is a more bitter, bigger brother of the regular Stone IPA, making it a special beer to say the least.  I remember grabbing one at the store not knowing that from then on I would be changed forever in a non reversible reaction to the high IBU’s.  Before I tasted this beer I thought I wasn’t really into IPA, but then I never looked at other beers the same.  I was truly ruined.  I didn’t know what had happened to me.  So I read the back of the bottle, and in clear English I was informed that I was forever affected, permanently turned into a hop head, “ruined” on other beer forever.  That is why the gargoyle proudly guards this beer, because if you finish it, and like what it has done to your palette, everything else will just be a pale ale in comparison.

To IPA and the ruination of palettes everywhere.  Mmm mmm, grab me another!

You can purchase this painting, or a limited-edition print at my Etsy Shop.
