Year of Beer Paintings – Day 98

Hawaii!  Here I come!  This morning I woke up to a fresh dusting of snow, and tonight I will be walking on old fire rock on the Big Island!  Hopefully, in a couple days I’ll be painting live in the tropical beer garden at the brewery complex where Fire Rock Pale Ale is brewed.  I love how Kona Brewing Company has bottled the spirit of aloha.  It must be hard to fit that much love into a bottle!

This beer is pretty good and the label makes it feel festive.  It is just the beer to take to an Alaskan luau party.  I personally prefer the Longboard Lager, but this one has Pele’s power backing the name.  Don’t be too jealous of me yet, I will probably be on a plane waiting to land when you are reading this.  A five to six hour flight, followed by an inter-island hop isn’t what I really wanted to do today, but it is totally worth it!  And at least I have the whole trip ahead of me!

Mahalo, Kona Brewing for making this stylish pale ale and for making it available in Alaska, bringing the spirit of the islands to the far north!  Aloha!

You can purchase this painting, or a limited-edition print at my Etsy Shop.
