Year of Beer Paintings – Day 169

Today’s beer painting is of Hemp Ale by Humboldt Brewing Company in Paso Robles, California! This beer is brewed with roasted hemp seeds, but I didn’t taste anything but delicious, fresh brown ale.  The rich malt flavor is enhanced by light American hops.  This beer actually reminds me of drinking a German bock, or maybe Moose Drool Brown Ale!  This is the first beer I have ever had by Humboldt Brewing, and I thought it was very tasty.  Surprisingly, the hemp seeds don’t even affect the overall flavor of the beer, maybe because Cannabis is directly related to the hop vine.  I like the hippy vibe that this beer exudes.

Great job, Humboldt Brewing!  I will have to find more of your brews, because your Brown didn’t make me frown.  Keep it up!

You can purchase this painting, or a limited-edition print at my Etsy shop.
