Year of Beer Paintings – Day 171

The beer painting of the day is of HopBack Amber Ale by Tröegs Brewing Company.  Would I even call this an Amber?  It is so hoppy, I think it should almost be called a red IPA (Joe Sixpack is rolling his eyes right now if he’s reading this).  Malty, yet robust with hop flavor!

I love the  HopBack Machine, pictured in the background of this painting right behind the pint of beer.  Perhaps this thing makes the beer at Tröegs special!  Nugget Nectar and all the other IPAs must utilize the HopBack, right?  This beer was so awesome, as I pulled it out after a great day of beer painting and drank it with friends from Philly.  They totally appreciated this beer from their home state.  All in all, a great beer drinking session was had, a painting was picked up and taken to it’s home, and new beers were placed in the beer fridge — an Alaskan Brewing Co. Baltic Porter from 2012, and a Cigar City Humidor IPA!  What a great beer tasting gathering!

Tröegs, your brewery is very fine and your beer truly crafted!  The HopBack machine is working well!

The original painting sold. You can purchase a limited-edition print, or order a custom beer painting at my Etsy shop.
