Year of Beer Paintings – Day 190

Today’s featured beer portrait is of Chocolate Cherry Stout by Kassik’s Brewery, brewed with cocoa nibs and cherries!  A fine drinking beer, in a pretty bottle.  I am a huge fan of big stouts, and this one qualifies.  I wish it was oak-aged, though, that may have enhanced the overall banquet.  I noted more chocolate than cherries, but the cherry flavor came out as the beer warmed up in my glass.

I was recently near Kenai, the hometown of Kassik’s Brewery, harvesting my salmon for the year, and I was hoping to stop by the tasting room, but was fortunate enough to fill a couple coolers with salmon, and had to book it back to Anchorage to process the fish promptly.  I think I may have to do a beer tour of the Kenai Peninsula and drink at all four breweries there!  Maybe I could paint live in some of them.

Cheers to cherries, chocolate and stout beer!  A match made in heaven!

The original painting sold. You can purchase a limited-edition print at my Etsy shop.
