Year of Beer Paintings – Day 93

The beer painting of the day is Twister Creek India Pale Ale from Denali Brewing Company in Talkeetna, Alaska!  Here’s a beer from my home state that I am proud to call an Alaska IPA.  Fresh, floral, 6.5% ABV, so it’s not too strong, and the hops are all aroma, not bitter.  When they brew this batch they must dry hop the crud out of this particular brew, and as a result, it tastes so fruity and fresh!  I will be mailing out a sampling of this one to my buddy in PA, and one to my cousin in CA.  This brewery is serious about beer and just built a beautiful new facility in Talkeetna.  I’m glad, we need our craft brewers to be successful, or we won’t have good AK beer to consume here in the Last Frontier!  Last week I was beer tripping to Fairbanks, and on the way back home I nabbed this shot of Denali.

To Denali Brewing Company — a fabulous brewery from a fabulous town!  You go Talkeetna! You just get cooler as you gain infrastructure!  What could be better than a great IPA and a great view?

The original painting sold. You can purchase a limited-edition print at my Etsy Shop.

Year of Beer Paintings – Day 14

On the fifth day of AK Beer Week, and the 14th day of Year of Beer, I painted Chuli Stout from Denali Brewing Company in Talkeetna, Alaska.  The canned stout is pictured on the Chulitna River with majestic Denali in the background.  This stout is the real Alaska deal, as bold as the Great Land, and as fresh as the snow falling from the sky as I write this blog post.  Not to be underestimated this beer comes in at 6.5%, so it will keep you warm during winter in Alaska.  I love looking at Denali in Talkeetna while sitting on the river sipping a stout!

Year of Beer Paintings – Day 8

Today I present to you a painting of Alaskan Brewing Company’s barley wine, on tap at Café Amsterdam, located in the Metro Mall across from Sears in midtown Anchorage, Alaska.  Today is a bonus beer day as I also included a pint of Fusion White IPA from Denali Brewing Company.  These two brews are noteworthy and brewed in the Greatland!  Nothing quite like the beer in the last frontier.  I love stopping in to the Café Amsterdam for a taste of special brews on tap, and it is conveniently located right next to La Bodega where I often go to pick up a mix pack of individual beers, which is perfect for a home beer tasting.  I started having home tastings when I was in college.  My friends were early beer nerds and we loved to sample whatever was available.  Back then if you bought a beer that cost over $5.00 for a 22 oz bottle you were ballin’.  La Bodega is a perfect place to pick up craft beer and it also has a killer Growler Bar.  If you want to drink beer on premise, stop into the Café Amsterdam in the same mall.  Word up, these places are dyn”O”mite for craft beer lovers!  Let the beer nerd in you flourish and have your first home beer tasting if you haven’t already.
