Another day, another beer painting. Fall is in full swing, which means it’s pumpkin beer season. So I painted the Imperial Pumking Ale for you from the brewing squad at Southern Tier Brewing Company. I was stoked to see this one on the shelf, even though I am not a fan of pumpkin beer. I heard it was the best one, and tastes just like pumpkin pie. I prefer apple pie to any other pies out there. Weird that people are not rushing out and buying apple pie beer, although I bet that would be pretty good. This pumpkin beer is exactly as advertised, it tastes just like cold pumpkin pie. It probably is the ‘King of pumpkin beers. My wife really liked it. I love a good squash meal, but I am not a huge fan of it sweetened in pie form. This pumpkin patch in the painting came from my imagination, with a lone Oak tree in the back of the field, devoid of leaves, which brings memories of late fall to mind. Time to harvest these imaginary gourds, because frost is in the air, and I wouldn’t want to see the fruit of my mind turn to rot. Truth is beauty, and beauty is truth, is not all you need to know. Sometimes the ugly truth stands out like a rotten jack ‘o lantern, and it’s handy to be able to gloss it over with a nice solid pumpkin patch of imagination.
Cheers to the Pumking, a solid pumpkin pie tasting ale! Great work, you nailed the flavors spot on, Southern Tier. May your pumpkin patch be as epic as my interpretation.
